Having graduated from King’s College in 2012 Maria worked in NHS / private general practice whilst studying dental acupuncture as a foundation trainee. She gained hospital experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery as a junior surgeon, obtaining her Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons of England before embarking upon further training in Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology and Oral Radiology at The Royal London Hospital and Guys Hospital. Maria achieved a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from the University of Cardiff, graduating with Distinction in 2015. She also published articles in Dental Update and The British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In 2016, Maria moved to Malta to work in private practice undertaking further studies in dental photography and is presently working towards her Postgraduate Diploma in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry. She also became a Foundation member of the College of General Dentistry in 2020. In her free time, she enjoys family quiz nights and reading and weekends are spent with her fiancée cooking, eating out or attempting DIY at home.
